Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

This policy explains what Klypr LLC ("Klypr", "we") collects when you use the Klypr desktop app, the klypr.tv website and Klypr Cloud (together, the "Services"), why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We don't sell your personal data.

Our aim is to collect only what the feature you're using needs. The details below describe our current practices; as the Services change we'll update this page and refresh the date above.

What stays on your device

Most of what Klypr does happens on your own computer:

What we collect and why

Identity and account

You sign in through a supported third-party account (currently Discord; we may add other providers such as Google). The provider shares basic profile information with us (typically an account ID, username or display name, avatar and email address) and nothing more than the scopes you approve. We use it to create your Klypr account, show your name on the clips you share, and contact you about your account (receipts, plan changes, safety and service notices). We don't use your name in marketing without asking.

Your profile (handle, display name, avatar, banner, bio, badges, achievements, per-game playtime totals and who you follow) is visible on klypr.tv to the extent you use those features; you control what you put there.

Clips you upload or share

When you share a clip or save it to Klypr Cloud we store the video (which we may re-encode), a preview image, its title, the game it's from, its length, and the share link's token. Public clips appear on your profile; unlisted clips are visible to people with the link. Likes and comments are stored with the account that made them. Clips shared on the free plan expire after the period shown in the app and are then removed.

Playtime

If you use the playtime feature, the app sends us the name of the game and the time played, in summaries, so your profile can show hours per game across devices. Nothing about what you did in the game is sent.

Billing

Paid plans are sold by Klypr LLC and paid through a third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). The processor collects your name, email address, billing country and postal code, and your payment details on its own checkout page; card numbers don't reach Klypr's servers. It tells us the plan you bought, the subscription's status and renewal dates, and a customer reference, so the app can unlock your plan and let you manage it. Stripe's privacy policy covers its own processing.

View counts, rate limits and logs

To count a clip's views honestly we keep a short-lived ledger keyed by your signed-in account or, for anonymous viewers, a salted one-way hash of the IP address rather than the address itself. Public forms (like the report page) are rate-limited by a similar hash. Our providers keep standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, page requested, browser) for security and troubleshooting.

Diagnostics (opt-in)

The app can send us diagnostics, meaning crashes, errors, capture performance and a snapshot of your hardware (such as GPU and Windows version), only if you turn it on in Settings → Cloud. These reports are designed not to include your account identity or clip content, and common personal details (such as your Windows user name, machine name and email addresses) are scrubbed before sending. If you use "Send diagnostics to Klypr", the log bundle you choose to send is used for support.

Reports and safety

If you report a clip or an account, we keep the report as a record: category, your description, what it points at, and your email if you provided it so we can tell you the outcome. If you're reported, the report and our decision are kept as part of the account's history.

Optional integrations

Some features connect to other services at your choice, for example Discord Rich Presence, which tells your own Discord client what game you're clipping. Data sent that way goes from your device to that service under its policies, not to us.

The website

klypr.tv does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Signing in keeps a session token in your browser's local storage. Some page assets (such as fonts) may be loaded from third-party servers, which receive your browser's request for them.

Who we share it with

We share personal data with the service providers we need to run the Services, and only what each needs. By category, with our current providers:

Providers may change; we'll keep this list current. Beyond service providers, we disclose personal data only: at your direction (for example, when you share a clip); to investigate or act on violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, including reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as U.S. law requires; to comply with valid legal process or protect rights, safety and the Services; or, if Klypr is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, to the successor, with notice to you before your data becomes subject to a different policy. We may use aggregated or de-identified data (for example, how many clips were shared this month) for any purpose.

When we look at your data

Our team accesses your clips or account only for limited reasons: to help with a support request you made; to fix an error that stopped an automated process; to review content that has been reported or flagged; to keep the Services secure and prevent abuse; or when required by law.

Klypr LLC is a U.S. company. We respond to government requests for user data when legally required (for example a valid warrant, subpoena or court order), and we aim to tell affected users unless we're legally prohibited from doing so or it's an emergency.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. As a guide:

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy; correct it; delete it (which may mean closing your account); restrict or object to certain processing; and receive it in a portable form. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Much of your profile you can change yourself in the app or on klypr.tv, and diagnostics can be switched off in Settings.

To make a request, email hello@klypr.tv from the address on your account (we may need to verify it's you). We respond within the time applicable law allows, typically within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority, and if we deny a request we'll tell you how to appeal where that right exists.

California residents: we don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA; the categories we collect and the purposes are described above. EU and UK residents: Klypr LLC is the controller. Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you (running the Services), your consent where we ask for it (such as diagnostics), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the Services), and legal obligation. Your data is stored and processed in the United States; by using the Services you understand it is transferred there.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the data, such as encryption in transit and at rest and access controls, and payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If you find a security issue, email hello@klypr.tv.

Children

The Services are for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change; we'll refresh the date at the top and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify account holders. Questions, requests or concerns: hello@klypr.tv, or by post to Klypr LLC, Texas, USA (postal address available on request).
